CSI 004-27-02 is highly specific for vitronectin. There is no evidence for cross-reactivity with other connective tissue proteins (fibronectin, elastin, collagen, laminin). CSI 004-27-02 cross-reacts with sheep vitronectin, no reactivity with human or horse.
CSI 004-27-02 has been successfully used in ELISA, Western blotting and Immunohistochemistry techniques. CSI 004-27-02 is suitable for ELISA, immunoblotting and immunostaining of frozen PLP-fixed sections of bovine tissues. The antibody can be used as an affinity purification reagent of vitronectin from bovine plasma or serum and to quantitatively deplete plasma or serum of vitronectin. It can also be used to probe vitronectin conformation.
NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL
VTN is a member of the pexin family. This protein is found in serum and tissues and promotes cell adhesion and spreading, inhibits the membrane-damaging effect of the terminal cytolytic complement pathway, and binds to several serpin serine protease inhibitors. The protein is a secreted protein and exists in either a single chain form or a clipped, two chain form held together by a disulfide bond.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
Protein Aliases: vitronectin (serum spreading factor, somatomedin B, complement S-protein)
Entrez Gene ID: (Sheep) 101119231, (Bovine) 507525
